I have very cute pictures with my mum, which I would’ve put up, but since I’m not home I don’t have access to those!
So this is something like a mother’s day tribute. A very late one. See, I wanted to write a post that day, but other stuff got in the way. Nevertheless, here it is now.
I don’t wanna speak on the subject of mother’s day and how it’s a special day for all mothers, blah blah- I just want to speak about mine. You see, my mother is THE most influential person in my life. She’s probably the one person I respect the most, and will always be that teeny bit scared of. What I do, before I go ahead with it, I think of her and what she might think of it. I’ve grown thinking along those lines. She’s brought me up well, I feel so anyway, and I think I didn’t turn out too bad really ;]. She’s just about the best person I know.
My most special mother’s day involves two mother figures, my mum and her mum. See, it was probably the last mother’s day when my grandmother was still alive, or perhaps a year before that. I’m not too clear on the year because well I must’ve been 11 or 12. 12 I bet. ANYWAY, as a child, and even now, I’ve always loved getting gifts for people- family, friends, whoever close to me; So I remember that mother’s day, I got my mum something as well as my grandmother, I got my grandmother a set of 4 glasses and a jar and some plastic trays with fruits and vegetable images on it.. or something? Nothing too great, it came out of my pocket money, so something small but still something she could use. She was my most favourite person in the world after all, :] and then later, I remember she was baking brownies, and I tried to learn from her… well to round this all up, that was probably the most special mother’s day I’ve had. Doesn’t matter how young I was, the memory’s still pretty strong and close to me.
“She holds your hands, never letting go
fearing danger, she holds you close to her heart
happiness, sadness, frustration, celebration;
she’s there through it all
scolds you when you take one step wrong,
and once succeeded, she’ll never let that glory pass you by
when you do right, she guides you to climb higher
to get on the right path
aim for the moon, she’ll tell you
tells you to never give up
tells you don’t lose yourself
advices one after the other,
there’s love, and then there’s a mother’s love for her child
you can’t help but wonder-
mothers. that’s just the way they are.” They care. A lot.
